The hotel is in a very good location---close to everything and in a nicer area of town. It is a large, modern looking building (on the inside) and the staff at the front desk were friendly and spoke English. The rooms were clean and relatively quiet and fairly large for European standards.
The negatives are:
* variable water tempuratures----when taking a shower you will be gifted with variable switches ranging from extreme hot to cold (depending on the time of day and how many other guests are showering or flushing)
* telephone costs----they charged me 12 Euros for a total of 4 minutes of calling----and I called toll-free numbers within France (to use my calling card to call back to North America which obviously means I will pay even more for my calls!). I know hotel phones are generally expensive, but this was an insane amount of money---even though the room signs say 30cents per 30 seconds. At most, I figured I would be charged about 2 Euros. What a surprise and impression to leave me with.
* Delay in assistance----when you call for extra towels or paper, you'll wait over 1.5 hours to receive your goods (sometimes only the receptionist is available to address ALL hotel concerns)---even in the middle of the afternoon.
*unattentive cleaning staff-----we left notes requesting extra towels on 2 of our nights, and gratuities also. On the first night, all was well done. On the second day, the gratuity was taken, but our additional requests were not honoured, even though it was the same staff person cleaning our room.
* small elevator/lift----while common in Europe, this one was also very choppy and took a long time.
Even though the above negatives left a short-term negative impression, I believe I would STILL stay at this hotel once again, especially if you book through SKOOSH-----I saved 24Euros per night by using SKOOSH and the SKOOSH service was fantastic. SKOOSH actually e-mailed me to confirm that my request for a quiet room was conve
